Animal Nutrition & Feed

ROVIMIX vitamins, Hy-D metabolites, CAROPHYLL carotenoids, phytase enzymes for poultry, swine, dairy, aquaculture.

Target Chemicals is the authorised DSM-Firmenich partner for animal nutrition in Jordan, supplying the ROVIMIX vitamin range, Hy-D metabolite technology, CAROPHYLL carotenoids, custom premixes, feed enzymes, and mycotoxin risk management solutions to poultry, livestock, aquaculture, and pet feed manufacturers across the region.

Optimising vitamin nutrition in animal feed is not just about meeting minimum requirements — it is about maximising performance, health, and profitability. Our animal nutrition team works with feed millers, integrators, and nutritionists to translate DSM-Firmenich’s OVN Optimum Vitamin Nutrition guidelines into practical, cost-effective feed programmes that deliver measurable improvements in growth, reproduction, immunity, and product quality.

DSM-Firmenich Vitamins for Animal Feed

The ROVIMIX range is the industry benchmark for animal feed vitamins, delivering consistent potency, stability during feed processing, and proven bioavailability across species:

ROVIMIX E50 — Stabilised vitamin E (50% alpha-tocopheryl acetate) for poultry, swine, dairy, and aquaculture. Supports immune function, fertility, meat quality, and oxidative stability. ROVIMIX E50 is the most widely used feed-grade vitamin E globally, with proven stability through pelleting, extrusion, and expansion processes.

ROVIMIX STAY-C 35 — Stable, bio-active form of vitamin C (L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate) for aquaculture and shrimp. Resistant to heat and oxidation during feed processing, STAY-C 35 delivers reliable vitamin C activity to fish and shrimp even after steam conditioning at high temperatures. Essential for aquaculture species that cannot synthesise their own vitamin C.

ROVIMIX Biotin — Essential for hoof and claw health in dairy and swine, feathering in poultry, and skin integrity across species. Biotin supplementation above NRC minimums has been shown to reduce lameness in dairy herds and improve claw quality in sows, delivering measurable economic returns.

Hy-D (25-OHD3) — The metabolically active form of vitamin D3, bypassing the hepatic conversion step for faster, more consistent calcium and phosphorus metabolism. Proven benefits include improved bone strength in broilers, superior egg shell quality in layers, enhanced leg health, and improved neonatal vigour in swine. Hy-D is particularly effective during periods of metabolic stress when the liver’s capacity to hydroxylate vitamin D3 is limited.

OVN — Optimum Vitamin Nutrition Guidelines

DSM-Firmenich’s OVN programme provides science-based vitamin supplementation recommendations that go beyond NRC minimums. OVN guidelines are validated by decades of research and field trials, targeting optimum performance — not just deficiency prevention. The difference between minimum requirements and optimum nutrition can represent significant improvements in feed conversion, mortality, egg production, milk yield, and carcass quality.

Our technical team helps producers implement OVN recommendations tailored to species, production stage, genetics, health status, and local environmental conditions. We provide on-farm consultations, feed formulation reviews, and economic analyses showing the return on investment from optimum vitamin supplementation.

Carotenoids for Pigmentation — CAROPHYLL

Consistent yolk colour and poultry skin pigmentation are critical quality parameters in the Middle East and North Africa region, where consumers associate deep golden-orange egg yolks with freshness, nutrition, and quality. The CAROPHYLL range delivers precise, reproducible pigmentation:

CAROPHYLL Red (canthaxanthin) — For deep red-orange yolk and skin pigmentation. Used alone or in combination with CAROPHYLL Yellow to achieve specific target colours on the DSM Yolk Colour Fan.

CAROPHYLL Yellow (apo-ester) — For bright golden-yellow pigmentation. The primary carotenoid for base yolk colour in markets preferring yellow tones.

CAROPHYLL products are heat-stable, compatible with standard feed processing, and backed by dosing guidelines for target pigmentation scores. Our team helps producers select the right CAROPHYLL combination and inclusion rate to hit the desired colour consistently.

Custom Premixes

We formulate and supply custom vitamin and mineral premixes for every major species and production stage:

  • Poultry — broiler starter, grower, and finisher premixes; layer premixes for peak production and late lay; breeder premixes for fertility and hatchability
  • Swine — nursery, grower, finisher, and sow/gilt premixes tailored to production phase and genetic potential
  • Dairy & beef — dry cow and transition premixes, lactation premixes, and feedlot premixes for target growth rates
  • Aquaculture — species-specific premixes for tilapia, trout, salmon, shrimp, and other aquatic species
  • Pets — companion animal premixes for complete, complementary, and therapeutic pet food formulations

Feed Enzymes & Mycotoxin Risk Management

Enzymes improve feed efficiency by unlocking nutrients bound in plant-based raw materials. Novonesis feed enzymes — including phytases, xylanases, and proteases — are a key component of our animal nutrition offering. Phytases release phosphorus from phytate, reducing the need for inorganic phosphate supplementation. Xylanases and proteases improve energy and amino acid availability, supporting better feed conversion and lower feed costs.

Mycotoxin risk management solutions protect feed quality and animal health by binding or degrading mycotoxins — including aflatoxins, fumonisins, deoxynivalenol, and zearalenone — before they reach the animal. In the MENA region, where hot and humid storage conditions can promote mould growth, proactive mycotoxin management is essential for maintaining feed safety and animal performance.

Applications & Species

Our animal nutrition portfolio serves the full production chain — from hatchery and nursery through grow-out and finishing — for poultry integrators, dairy farms, beef feedlots, aquaculture operations, and pet food manufacturers in Jordan and the region. Whether you need a standard ROVIMIX vitamin inclusion or a custom premix engineered for your specific feed formulation, our team delivers the products, technical guidance, and supply reliability that feed manufacturers depend on.
